School-Based Therapist

Description

The School Based Therapist position provides in person therapy services during school hours to students at their individual school. This position will also exercise considerable independence of judgment in the application of therapy skills to an identified caseload of clients with individual and/or family problems requiring a variety of intervention and service techniques and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual mental health counseling to students experiencing mental health needs
  • Evaluate, assess and diagnose students based on presenting issues
  • Identify and set goals to meet student’s needs
  • Develop individualized treatment plan to support therapeutic interventions using identified goals
  • Collaborate with school social workers, administrators and teachers to ensure effective treatment
  • Establish open lines of communication with client’s parents/caregivers to promote meeting treatment goals
  • Consult with clinical team and participate in clinical team meetings
  • Respond to client crisis and/or risk as needed
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mental health standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior

Qualifications

  • Required to have one of the following licenses in the state of Indiana: LSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LMHCA, LMHC
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI number)
  • Professional Liability (malpractice) insurance
