Amaya earned a BA in Psychology, a BA in English, and a minor in Sociology from Indiana University Northwest. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. Amaya has gained valuable experience working with detained youth at a correctional facility, and she is particularly passionate about supporting adolescents who may feel underrepresented or misunderstood. In addition to her work with youth, Amaya is eager to expand her experience in counseling both children and adults. With a person-centered, strengths-based approach, Amaya is committed to creating a therapeutic environment where all clients feel heard, validated, and empowered as they work toward their goals.
