Kaitlyn Vasilko earned her Bachelor’ s Degree in Behavioral Sciences in 2024 with Highest Distinction from Purdue University Northwest (PNW). She is currently working towards her Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at PNW and is on track to graduate in 2027. She is also working towards her certificate in Art Therapy. At PNW, she currently serves as the co-president of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), PNWs chapter of the international counseling honors society. She is also president of two student organizations at PNW focused on supporting the mental health of students and the community. Her research focuses on college student mental health, art therapy, and culturally responsive approaches for diverse populations. She has presented her research at PNW and at the Purdue West Lafayette campus. Her research has been published in the Purdue Undergraduate Research Journal and the Purdue Journal of Service-Learning. She is currently a member of the Latinx Wellness Group Research Team and presented research for this project at the 2026 ASGW Conference.
